The BABY BOTTLE CAMPAIGN for Precious Life and Elm sponsored by the Knights of Columbus continues.  The Knights will be collecting the baby bottles   on Father’s Day, June 20. If you didn’t pick one up last weekend, you can find them in the vestibule. If you’ve already filled one up, you can return that in the collection basket and fill up another one. Please make out any checks directly to the Knights of Columbus.

SUMMER BIBLE CAMP IS SET FOR JUNE 21 – 25, Monday through Friday, from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. Registrations are available in the vestibule of the Church.  Please register by May 16, so that we can prepare and order materials.  Children completing Pre-School age 4 and children in Kindergarten through Grade 6 and Special Needs are eligible to attend. 

ADULTS AND TEEN HELPERS ARE NEEDED FOR BIBLE CAMP – We welcome Teens and adults who are willing to help us with the Camp.  Registrations forms for both are in the vestibule of the Church.  If you are willing and able to assist, please complete the forms and connect with me so that I can set you up for the Safe Environment session.  Registration forms for adults and teen should be returned by May 9so that I can set individuals for the online training. 

 SUMMER BIBLE CAMP will be held this June from June 21 – 25 in the St. Joseph Parish Social Hall. Teachers and Teen Helpers are needed for Arts and Crafts, Snack Room, and Bible Stories. To sign up, please contact Sr. Linda at 934-0699.

AN ADULT EDUCATION CLASS on the Sacraments will be held for parents with children in the Bible Camp as well as anyone interested in participating in this class on the SACRAMENTS from 6-8:00 p.m.

Mass for Widows and Widowers to be Televised

Remember your loved ones on Sunday, May 30, 2020 with a televised Mass Celebrated by Bishop Mark Bartchak at 11:00 am on WATM ABC 23 and will be rebroadcast that night at 9:00 p.m. on the Atlantic Broadband channel 9. All spouses will be acknowledged and remembered at Mass. All persons who have lost a spouse through death throughout the Altoona-Johnstown Diocese are invited to register by contacting the Family Life Office 814-317-2643 or email

The Knights of Columbus, Saint Gregory Council of Tyrone, is sponsoring a series of speakers on Friday, May 21, from 7-9 pm in Harkins Hall, Saint Matthew Church, 1105 Cameron Avenue in Tyrone, PA.

This event entitled “First Responder Night” will feature three speakers from a  local fire department, police department, and AMED. The presentations will discuss the process of when a call is first received to how the various departments are notified and what the process is upon notification. Light refreshments will be served. 

Anyone interested in attending may indicate by completing the sign-up sheet in the back of Saint Joseph and Saint Matthew churches. Sign-ups are to provide proper Hall set-up adhering to COVID guidelines.

An ADULT CLASS on the Sacraments will be held during the same time the children are at Bible Camp. This class is open to the parents of the children attending Bible Camp as well as any parishioner or adult who may be interested in learning more about the Sacraments. Sr. Jane Miller will be our Instructor.  


We are excited to be able to hold Summer Bible Camp once again this year the week of June 21-25, from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. in the Saint Joseph Parish Social Hall. We will begin to accept registrations next Sunday for children in Kindergarten through grade 6. We are in need of Teachers and Teen Helpers. We will also have sign up for this next Sunday.
