Thank you! The Bellwood-Antis Council of Churches would like to express sincere gratitude to all who helped in any way with this’s year Christmas Basket Program. The amount of donating and volunteering that occurred from so many places and so many people safely in the midst of a global pandemic can only be explained by the fact that we serve a Sovereign God Who uses His people to accomplish His benevolent purposes. This year the program brought tangible expressions of God’s love and care to approximately 262 persons in 122 homes. There were at least 77 children ages 1 to 14 years old who also received toys, gloves, hats and more.
This year our Christmas Season was a little bit different in more ways than one. Now that it comes to an end, a sincere thank you is in order to all of you for your active participation in our Christmas liturgies, especially our music minsters, extraordinary ministers of Holy Communion, readers, hospitality ministers, ushers, and other ministers. Thank you also to all those who helped with decorating and cleaning of our church and all volunteers of any age who so graciously offered their time and talents to make the Christmas Season enjoyable and spiritually nurturing. Let us carry the spirit of this joyous season throughout the New Year so our Saint Joseph Parish family can continue to grow and fulfill its mission in proclaiming the Good News of our Savior Jesus Christ.
Grade School Schedule Reminders & Updates
In January we hope to have 3 classes: January 17, 24, and 31.
In February we will have 4 classes, 7, 14, 21, and 28, however, the confessions scheduled at 8:30 am will not occur due to the Corona virus and the observance of safety.
We will however have a Penance Service for both Grade and High School Students on Sunday, February 28, at 5:00 p.m. It is important, if you feel safe, to have our children and teens stay on task with the experience of Confession and Reconciliation.
We also encourage the children, if you feel safe, to come to the Ash Wednesday Mass (February 17) to be marked with the Ashes, signifying their beginning of the Lenten Journey. Mass and Service times can be found on our Web Page as well as Facebook.
Each Friday of Lent we will have the Stations of the Cross. We do encourage you to bring your children to the Stations, since this is a Catholic Devotion which is important for them to engage in and experience especially during the Lenten Season
In March, we again have 4 classes scheduled-March 7, 14, 21 & 28.
We call your attention to the 2nd Grade Parent-Child Retreat on Sunday, March 14, from 11:30 – 12:45 p.m. at St. Matthew Church in Tyrone. At this meeting we will present the importance of the Eucharist in the life of a Catholic Christian and plan out the preparation for the reception of First Holy Communion.
In April, we have 3 Classes scheduled on April 11, 18, and 25.
We call your attention to the Celebration of First Holy Communion with our Second-Grade class, on Saturday Evening April 17, at the 4:00 p.m. Mass.
On May 2, we will have our Final Session of Religious Education with the May Crowning involving our Grade and High School Students, at the 9:00 a.m. Mass. Grade School students will still have Class following the 9:00 a.m. Mass from 10:00 – 11:15 p.m.
ANNOUNCEMENT: There have been some delays in the mailing and receipt of our Contribution Envelopes. If you have not received yours yet, you should get them by the end of the month. Until then, we have generic envelopes at each entrance for you to use or you can use a blank envelope. Thank you for your patience.
